Membership Types
Pick the SDSEO Membership Right for You
There are several types of SDSEO membership, and each is low cost and easy. Signing up involves no more than completing a simple registration form:
- Regular membership Open to all permanent employees of the state of South Dakota. You never have to mail a check or conduct an online transaction. After joining, dues can be automatically deducted from your paycheck. The cost is just $5 per bi-weekly pay period or $10 per monthly pay period.
We also offer a cash/check dues option for those that wish to pay dues for the entire year ($120); with this option, you can pay your year's worth of dues direct to the SDSEO office, so no payroll deduction takes place. Our membership form for state employees is

- Associate membership Businesses, individuals, and organizations who acknowledge the importance of state employees and support the efforts of the SDSEO. For just $40 per year, an SDSEO Associate Member receives an SDSEO Associate Member window/wall badge, inclusion on the SDSEO website, and other promotional opportunities. - Lifetime membership Retired state employees who want to maintain contact with the SDSEO and who have an interest in state employee issues, retirement, and the success of the SDSEO. The cost? Just a one-time fee of $75. The lifetime member form is here.
